Qualifications

• Basic understanding of health insurance, referrals, and prior authorization processes.
• Ability to use electronic health records and standard computer applications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle protected health information appropriately.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track patient referrals, diagnostic testing, and specialty appointments.
• Serve as liaison between patients, providers, insurance companies, specialist offices, hospitals, diagnostic facilities, and other healthcare organizations to ensure referrals are processed accurately and timely.
• Manage referral process from receipt of the provider's order through scheduling, authorization, completion, and receipt of applicable reports or records.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, clinical staff, front desk staff, billing staff, and outside healthcare organizations to ensure continuity of patient care.
