Cano Health LLC is seeking a Referral Coordinator to support the clinical unit with clerical tasks, scheduling consultations, diagnostics, and procedures. You will input referrals and authorizations, coordinate follow-up care, and assist patients with referral policies and insurance questions.

The role emphasizes accuracy, customer-friendly service, and collaboration with physicians and care teams to ensure timely referrals and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in a physician’s office, clinic or hospital processing referrals.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience scheduling healthcare appointments.
• Experience with office equipment, including computers, calculators, fax machines and copiers.

Responsibilities

• Enter orders into the computer system.
• Schedule referrals per policy.
• Forward medical records to referral providers.
• Coordinate internal and external referrals.
• Enter authorization information and codes.
• Obtain necessary authorizations.
• Assist staff with referral policies and procedures.
• Notify patients about tests ordered by a provider.
• Collaborate with the patient care team to improve operations.
