Formación

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience processing referrals or clinical/front desk work.
• HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality of patient information.
• Excellent written and oral communication, time management, and organization.
• Professional with the ability to interact well with staff, patients and providers.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and system navigation for referrals.
• Ability to stay calm in busy or stressful settings.
• Strong listening skills and problem-solving mindset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic phone/computer tasks.
• English language proficiency; bilingual is a plus.
• Experience with HIPAA/AHCA and EMR systems is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Schedule, coordinate, and manage referral appointments with outside specialists.
• Maintain knowledge of health plan referral rules and authorization requirements.
• Provide excellent service to patients face-to-face or over the phone.
• Schedule initial and follow-up appointments for specialists and imaging centers.
• Track referrals and document for team awareness and patient safety.
• Collect and share necessary medical information with specialists as per referral needs.
• Contact review organizations and insurers to ensure prior approvals are met.
• Explain referral details to patients and help solve barriers to care.
• Be the primary contact for patients and families regarding referrals.
• Identify community resources and maintain provider relationships.
• Ensure referrals are addressed promptly and reminders are issued.
