Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA seeks a Patient Service Representative to coordinate referrals from PCPs to specialists and to work directly with health plans. You’ll assign ICD-10 and CPT codes, and communicate managed care information to patients and staff.

The role requires strong communication and a professional demeanor for interactions with providers and insurance companies. This position emphasizes adherence to guidelines, flexibility, and collaboration with utilization management staff

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with tact and poise to interact with patients and staff.
• Flexible and able to relate well with diverse teams in a professional manner.
• Associate degree or equivalent education and healthcare office experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient referrals from PCP to specialists with health plans.
• Assign ICD-10 and CPT codes to referrals; communicate managed care information.
• Troubleshoot referral issues and disseminate guidelines to staff and patients.
• Identify insurance requirements and provider changes; liaise with leaders.
• Handle communication with patients, physicians, and hospital staff.
