Kinwell Health is hiring a Referral Coordinator to manage patient referrals to specialists and external providers at on-site clinics across Washington, including Spokane Valley. The role emphasizes timely processing, insurance verification, and HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in healthcare, experience with Epic or Cerner EMR, and strong communication and organizational skills to support smooth care transitions for our patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; AA or certificate preferred.
• 2 years in healthcare, preferably referral coordination or medical scheduling.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner) and insurance verifications.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process, coordinate, and follow up on patient referrals for timely care transitions.
• Schedule appointments with specialists and external providers per patient needs.
• Verify referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and track referral statuses.
• Communicate referral updates to patients and providers clearly.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal policies.
• Develop relationships with external providers to streamline referrals.
• Identify process issues and implement improvements in referral workflows.
• Educate patients on referral steps and preparation requirements.
