MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is the referral and scheduling hub within the Medical University of South Carolina. This Referral Management Specialist I role focuses on guiding patients through scheduling and access, coordinating with clinical teams, and ensuring accurate patient data entry in a fast-paced call center.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and customer-service skills, with attention to detail and a patient-first approach in every interaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years of experience in a medical office, call center, or customer service environment.
• Typing speed of 35 CWPM is required.
• Experience with Windows, Excel, and Internet/Intranet navigation tools is essential.

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments across multiple specialties in a call center with automated scheduling.
• Triages patient calls, addresses inquiries, resolves issues, and refers to clinical teams as needed.
• Maintains current knowledge of services and protocols and collects accurate patient data for profiles.
