Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC is seeking a Counselor to deliver evidence-based readiness and transition programming for a caseload of participants. You will assess clinical issues, create clear objectives, and document progress to meet contract standards.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, leading relapse prevention and life skills groups, maintaining clinical documentation, and ensuring timely records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, counseling, psychology, criminal justice, or related field
• Master's degree preferred
• Experience within a correctional setting preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work with a team and with computers/department software

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive assessment of inmates' substance abuse history and needs; develop individualized treatment plan
• Lead individual counseling and group lectures on Relapse Prevention, Anger Management, Parenting skills, Life Skills, Criminal & Addictive Behaviors
• Facilitate psycho-educational/behavior modification groups and document attendance and progress
• Conduct risk/need assessments and create treatment plans for each participant
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and update logs and company database
• Ensure records are completed in a timely manner and protect confidentiality
• Identify problems affecting treatment completion and guide strategies for success
• May advise customers of participant progress at milestones
• May manage case files for each programparticipant
• Utilize crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques
• Perform other duties as assigned
