State of Indiana is seeking a Correctional Caseworker for Westville Correctional Facility in Indiana. You will coordinate case management, help access programs and services, and assist in preparing for release and re-entry. The role starts at $42,900 per year and offers a robust benefits package.

Requirements include negative drug screens, IRAS certification within 90 days, and mandatory training in DOC programs. A HS Diploma/HSE with 1+ year experience may be considered.

Qualifications

• Must test negative on all drug screenings.
• Within 90 days, obtain IRAS Certification through the Indiana Office of Court Services.
• Complete mandatory training including the DOC Training Program, Case management training, First Aid and CPR.
• Degree not required; HS Diploma/HSE with 1+ years in social work/corrections may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to offenders on job assignments, housing changes, transfers and procedures.
• Liaise between prospective employers, courts, community, and agencies for job development and release adjustments.
• Assess offenders' risk/needs using IRAS.
• Create case plans addressing risk/needs and track program participation.
• Document interactions and progress during incarceration.
• Coordinate with facility staff on re-entry and release issues.
• Prepare case notes and referrals during incarceration.
• Make classification recommendations with classification staff.
• Conduct unit orientations for new offenders.
• Adhere to re-entry policies to ensure QA tasks are completed.
