Qualifications

• Experience in correctional records management or social casework related to offender classification and supervision can substitute education.
• No substitution for the required specialized experience applies at higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Use interview techniques and assessment instruments to determine offenders' risks and needs.
• Prepare case history reports and recommend program assignments.
• Advise offenders on personal problems, employment resources, and educational needs.
• Deliver programs to aid re-entry and coordinate with social service agencies.
• Develop transition plans and collaborate with partners for pre- and post-release services.
