The GEO Group is seeking a Reentry Services Specialist to equip program participants with tools and knowledge for successful community reintegration using CBIP, Victim Impact, SAFE, and Relapse Prevention program modules. You will learn and model principles of the What Works system in all interactions with participants, GEO staff and agency personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related field required.
• Must have previous experience as a facilitator/educator/group moderator.
• Preference given to experience within a correctional setting.
• Valid state driver's license required.
• Ability to interact in a professional manner in counseling settings.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiar with correctional system and policies.
• Understanding of the Principles of Effective Intervention to reduce recidivism.
• Ability to work with a team and implement team strategies

Responsibilities

• Facilitates delivery of cognitive behavioral curriculum in individual and group settings.
• Reviews curriculum/resources to enhance life skills participation.
• Maintains class rosters, attendance, and issues completion certificates.
• Supports assessment of participant needs and makes referrals.
• Provides individual and group counseling on self-esteem, problem solving, relationships.
• Communicates with participants about reentry planning and community resources.
• Aids in planning post-release plans and post-release behavior.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
