Base pay range

$33.54/hr - $36.29/hr

Mendon Truck Leasing and Rental is a full-service leasing and rental company and a part of PETIT FORESTIER GROUP. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Reefer Mechanic for diesel trucks to join our team.

This is a full-time 447 Union Job.

Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnosis and repair of refrigeration systems for trucks and trailers.
• Conduct engine repair and rebuilding, including diesel and gasoline engines.
• Perform repair to transmissions, driveline, and differentials.
• Perform repairs to engine accessory components.
• Conduct tune-ups using established procedures.
• Repair steering, suspension, brake systems, frame, axle, electrical, hydraulic, and refrigeration systems.
• Read and interpret job orders, communicate effectively, and document repairs and maintenance.
• Work independently and instruct lower-grade mechanics.
• Perform road service as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Experience in diesel-mechanical diagnosis and repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Post-secondary or vocational certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and software.
• Ability to drive company vehicles and obtain CDL within 6 months.

Working Conditions:

Work involves shop, yard, office, and vehicle environments, with lifting of 50-75 lbs.

• Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 1:30 PM - 10 PM
• Location: Bronx, NY & Newark, NJ
