The City of Miami Beach's Economic Development Department (EDD) is seeking a Redevelopment Specialist to perform administrative, research, and coordination work supporting redevelopment and economic development initiatives.

The role involves data gathering, market analysis, preparing reports, coordinating meetings, and assisting with grant applications and public information materials to advance a diverse and resilient local economy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field as listed
• Three years of full-time verifiable redevelopment or economic development experience; education may substitute on a year-for-year basis
• Knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, word processing and video conferencing

Responsibilities

• Coordinate economic development programs and projects
• Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets for assigned programs and projects
• Provide support to Director/Assistant Director and respond to requests
• Research economic development trends and provide analyses and recommendations
• Gather data on economic and market data, properties, zoning and land use matters
• Assist with advisory committee meetings scheduling, reports and minutes
• Communicate with city stakeholders, business owners, residents, staff and officials
• Assist in development and dissemination of marketing and public information collateral
• Assist in preparation and submission of grant applications
• Prepare letters, memorandums, reports and agenda items
• Draft correspondence and coordinate meetings
• Prepare/acquire documents for requisitions and purchases
• Perform clerical functions and records maintenance
• Gather documents for public records requests
• Review documents and provide edits as directed
• Perform related work as required
• Attend emergencies as essential employee
• Develop innovative solutions aligned with the city's strategic plan
