Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Sorter at our Ignacio, CO facility to safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities meet broker or mill specifications. This role involves sorting, chute deposits, assisting teammates, and following all safety procedures on the line.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in a recycling facility and can inspect loads for unacceptable waste while communicating with operators about special loads.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a Recycling Facility sorting recyclable materials.

Responsibilities

• Sort and segregate recoverable materials from incoming waste.
• Deposit recoverable materials into appropriate chute.
• Assist other sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed.
• Follow safety policies, including stopping the conveyor belt in emergencies.
• Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste and remove as required.
• Communicate with equipment operators about loads needing special attention.
