Job summary

GreenWaste is seeking a dependable Sorter to manually separate recyclable and non-recyclable materials from a conveyor belt at our San Leandro facility. You will work in a safety-focused environment, following OSHA procedures and site-specific standards to minimize contamination and maximize recycling potential.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 75 lbs in some operations, and effective English/Spanish communication.

Qualifications

• Valid government-issued identification and authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA safety procedures and company policies at all times.
• Sort and extract materials from a conveyor belt per site standards to minimize contamination.
• Meet productivity targets for item extraction per minute.
• Follow daily procedures and established protocols.
• Work safely around others to support efficiency.
• Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive sorting motions.
• Handle, move, and transport materials and equipment as required.
• Assist with onsite projects such as litter control, maintenance and housekeeping.
