Job summary

Augment is seeking dedicated Sorters to join our team at a Material Recovery Facility in Pittsburgh, PA. In this hands-on role you will identify and separate different materials on a conveyor belt, ensuring an efficient and high-quality recycling stream.

No prior experience is required as on-the-job training is provided. The work is fast-paced, physically demanding, and performed in a loud, dusty environment; lifting up to 50 lbs and flexible shifts including weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a loud, dusty, and odorous environment.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sort recyclable materials (paper, plastics, metals, glass, etc.) from a conveyor belt.
• Remove non-recyclable and hazardous materials to ensure a clean recycling stream.
• Identify and separate contaminants from recyclable materials to maintain high-quality output.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, high-visibility vests, etc.).
• Monitor the conveyor belt to prevent blockages and ensure smooth operation.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by following housekeeping practices.
• Assist with minor maintenance and cleaning of sorting equipment as needed.
