Job summary

GreenWaste is hiring a Sorter in San Jose, CA to manually separate recyclable and non-recyclable materials from a conveyor belt. This role supports material quality, operational efficiency, and workplace safety at the assigned facility.

Responsibilities include following OSHA safety procedures, meeting productivity targets (about 25–48 items per minute depending on the stream), lifting up to 75 lbs, standing for long periods, and working with a team in a fast‑paced environment while using

Qualifications

• Valid government-issued identification and authorization to work in the United States.
• Language ability: communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA safety procedures at all times.
• Sort and extract materials from a conveyor belt to minimize contamination and maximize recycling potential.
• Meet productivity targets (approximately 25–48 items per minute, depending on stream).
• Work safely in close proximity to others to support efficiency.
• Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive sorting motions with good dexterity.
• Handle, move and transport materials as required.
• Assist with on-site projects such as litter control and routine maintenance.
