Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Area Manager, Plant Operations to oversee complex recycling operations and provide analytical support for the Recycling group. You will lead profitable recycling initiatives, standardize processes, and develop cost-effective solutions aligned with the company strategy.

This role requires experience in budgeting, P&L, and implementing operational improvements. You will train staff, ensure safety and compliance, and travel up to 70% to visit facilities.

Qualifications

• Budget management experience for a defined program or facility.
• P&L responsibilities and financial accountability.
• Experience leading start-up operations or rolling out new processes.
• Proven ability to implement process improvements and standardization.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages field recycling activities and ensures operation alignment with technology and trends.
• Drives continuous improvements, including standardization of design specs and procedures.
• Conducts efficiency, safety and site audits; reports findings to management.
• Enforces rebate structures and benchmarks productivity to company standards.
• Collaborates with all levels to achieve operations goals and trains staff.
• Identifies equipment needs and supports procurement in purchases.
• Travels domestically up to 70%.
