TTUHSC seeks a Physician Assistant to support a supervising physician with patient care, planning and treatment. You will perform examinations, order tests, and contribute to diagnosis under physician oversight.

The role requires Texas licensure or transfer, EPIC experience, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach in a fast-paced setting. This is a part-time, on-site opportunity with competitive hourly pay.

Qualificações

• Graduation from a Physician Assistant program approved by the ARC-PA and licensure in Texas or ability to transfer.
• Nursing pathway accepted: RN licensure or Nurse Practitioner certification in Texas.
• Experience with adult and acute care patients preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide patient care under supervision and responsibility of a physician.
• Develop plans of care with supervising physician and implement them.
• Order tests and interpret results to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Educate patients and families about plans of care and health issues.
• Practice independently for previously diagnosed and undiagnosed patients.
• Deliver full spectrum health services including prevention and disease management.
• Prescribe medications within scope and monitor patient status over time.

Visa Information

Position Description

Employees in this position are responsible for augmenting asupervising physician's data gathering abilities to reach decisionsand institute patient care plans. Provides health care services topatients under direction and responsibility of a Physician.

Major/Essential Functions

• Provides patient services under the supervision andresponsibility of a Doctor of Medicine or osteopathy.
• Develop plans of care with the supervising physician, asappropriate, and implement plans while treating patients.
• Determines need for specialized medical testing for diagnosis or treatment; Orders tests appropriately.
• Instructs and counsels patients and families regarding a planof care, problems, and other health care issues.
• Practice independently, managing previously diagnosed andundiagnosed patients.
• Provides the full spectrum of health care services, includinghealth prevention, disease prevention, health protection,anticipatory guidance and counseling, and disease management, palliative care.
• Orders and interprets labs and diagnostic tests, such as X-ray,electrocardiogram, and laboratory test results for deviations from normal.
• Prescribes medication within the scope of practice. Managepatients' and families' health/illness status over time.
• Examines patient, performs a comprehensive physicalexamination, and compiles patient medical data, including healthhistory and results of physical examination.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program approvedby the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of theAmerican Medical Association. Current Physician Assistant licensein the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas.Certification as a Physician Assistant as evidenced by passing theexaminations given by the National Commission on the Certificationof Physician Assistants. OR Graduation from an accredited school ofnursing as a nurse practitioner from an approved certificationprogram recognized by Texas Board of Nursing. Current R.N. licenseas approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transferlicense to Texas. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from anapproved certification program as recognized by Texas Board ofNursing or ability to transfer certification to Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

• EPIC knowledge .
• Prior skills/knowledge with PALS and BLS.
