Statement of the Job: The Maine Business School seeks a Recruitment Specialist to support strategic student recruitment, enrollment, and outreach initiatives. This role will have a primary focus on the MaineMBA and graduate business programs (65%) and will meaningfully contribute to the execution and support of undergraduate recruitment efforts (35%).

Based in Portland at the Maine Center at 300 Fore Street, this position plays a central role in strengthening the Maine Business School’s presence across the state of Maine and the broader region through a combination of relationship-based recruitment, digital engagement strategies, employer and community outreach, and student-centered enrollment support.

The Recruitment Specialist serves as a key point of contact for prospective students throughout the enrollment lifecycle - from inquiry through matriculation and early transition into the program. The position is responsible for generating prospective graduate student interest and guiding students through a thoughtful, personalized decision‑making process.

In support of our goals to grow undergraduate enrollment, this position will support and execute events from open houses to accepted student events, most notably the Enhanced Business Days. This role reflects the School’s broader strategic priorities related to enrollment growth, engagement, alumni connectivity, through statewide and regional visibility.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, relational, highly organized, and comfortable operating across multiple modalities and audiences. They will possess strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a demonstrated commitment to student success and strategic enrollment management.

This position is located in Portland, Maine, with regional travel and travel to the University of Maine in Orono, Maine required. The hiring range for this position is $56,000 to $62,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, marketing, student services, or relationship management.
  • Evidence of strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Evidence of the ability to build relationships with a wide range of audiences.
  • Evidence of strong time management skills and attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Experience recruiting in higher education for both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Experience with CRM or enrollment management systems.
  • Five plus years of professional experience in recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, marketing, student services, or relationship management.
  • Evidence of event planning and outreach experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and inclusive engagement.
  • Master’s degree.
