Position Overview:
We are looking for a proactive Recruitment Specialist to work closely with department managers to attract and secure top talent for our organization. Key responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating candidates, conducting interviews, and building a strong network of potential hires. The successful candidate will collaborate with HR management to create and implement effective recruitment strategies that enhance our diverse talent pool.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with department managers to understand staffing goals and ensure that job requirements and candidate expectations are clearly communicated.
- Review Open Positions reports to confirm approved openings before initiating recruitment activities.
- Work with hiring managers to ensure current and comprehensive job descriptions are finalized, reflecting relevant hiring criteria.
- Utilize aggressive sourcing methods—including internet research, social media, networking, employee referrals, advertisements, career events, and job fairs—to identify and recruit top-tier talent.
- Post approved positions across various recruitment platforms (e.g., Indeed, LinkedIn, ADP) and prepare interview questions and other selection materials.
- Select qualified candidates for the interview stage and facilitate connections with hiring managers.
- Schedule and conduct phone screens and interviews as per hiring manager instructions.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to hiring teams throughout the recruitment process and gather detailed interview information to aid candidate selection.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and HR staff during the offer process to relay screening updates, start dates, and other critical information.
- Proactively build a pool of qualified candidates before needs arise, engaging with trade schools, universities, and establishing relationships in the community.
- Partner with HR Management to develop hiring practices that align with organizational growth strategies.
- Identify and implement effective recruitment strategies that resonate with organizational needs and industry standards.
- Conduct searches for passive candidates who meet role requirements but have not yet applied for openings.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including equal employment opportunity (EEO) regulations throughout the recruitment process.
- Provide training and support for managers on recruitment best practices as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to present ideas confidently across all organizational levels while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective sourcing strategies for a wide range of roles.
- Self-motivated and proactive, taking initiative to drive recruitment efforts.
- Strong time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Competence in database management and record-keeping is essential.
- Familiarity with employment laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Proficiency in applicant tracking software and recruitment systems, with a willingness to learn new tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software.
- Ability to travel as needed to company worksites or for candidate interviews (approximately 5%).
Education/Experience:
- An associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of recruitment experience is required.
- SHRM's Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- The position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Occasional flexibility in work hours may be required to accommodate recruitment events, candidate interviews, or team meetings.
- This position may offer opportunities for remote work on specific days, pending management approval and team collaboration needs.
