Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in San Antonio is seeking an Ambassadors onboarding lead to coordinate onboarding and ensure a positive new hire experience. You will mentor onboarding specialists and serve as the local recruiting contact, communicating clearly and organizing workflows.

You will join weekly recruiting meetings, support staffing needs with an outsourcing partner, and help create or modify SOPs.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of related work experience.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; able to efficiently communicate at all levels.
• Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business needs, including opening, mid-, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Self-driven with minimal supervision.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding processes and ensure a positive new hire experience.
• Mentor and monitor onboarding specialists; act as local recruiting contact.
• Maintain a pipeline of onboarding staff to support staffing needs.
• Join weekly recruiting meetings and coordinate with outsourcing partner.
• Contribute to SOPs and onboarding process improvements.
• Onboard new hires: paperwork (I-9, direct deposit, forms).
• Assist walk-ins with applications and hiring steps.
• Participate in job fairs and grassroots recruiting.
• Order onboarding equipment (badges, IDs).
• Communicate professionally with Ambassadors, Vendors, and Guests.
• Perform other duties including front desk coverage and answering questions.

You will coordinate the onboarding proses and ensure that all candidates receive a positive new hire experience. You’ll mentor and monitor onboarding specialist and act as the local point of contact for recruiting. You’ll be a fantastic communicator, highly organized, and have outstanding leadership skills who will also work alongside the team to onboard new hires.

Specifically you will:

Coach, train, and mentor team members to ensure positive candidate experiences Assist with having a pipeline of onboarding specialists to ensure we are fully staffed to support processing appointments Join weekly recruiting meetings and partner with recruitment outsourcing partner to ensure staffing needs are being met and/or that issues are escalated Provide input and make recommendations on improving or enhancing the onboarding process Assist in creating and modifying SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) Onboard new hires by processing required paperwork (I-9, direct deposit, parental consent forms, etc.) Assist walk-ins with their application and with the hiring process Participate in job fairs, local community outreach and other grassroots recruiting as needed Order onboarding equipment (badges, ID’s, etc.) as needed Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests Perform other duties as assigned to include but not limited to front desk coverage, fielding questions from guests and ambassadors

What it takes to succeed:

Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing) Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
