Do you have a passion for creating memorable events and exceptional customer experiences? Are you energized by coordinating weddings, special events, venue reservations, and community celebrations? The City of O'Fallon is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Recreation Specialist - Venue & Wedding to oversee our premier event facilities and help residents celebrate life's most important moments.

This position combines venue management, event coordination, customer service, recreation programming, and facility operations. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple events and priorities simultaneously. The anticipated starting pay rate is $25.98 per hour.

What You'll Do

• Manage the daily operations and facility improvements of O'Day Lodge, O'Day Amphitheater, and Krekel Civic Center.
• Coordinate and oversee reservations for event venues, wedding sites, campsites, pavilions, and community facilities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for wedding couples, event hosts, and renters throughout the planning process.
• Conduct facility tours and assist clients in selecting the perfect venue for their event.
• Coordinate event logistics, schedules, and facility usage to ensure successful events.
• Manage relationships with City-approved caterers and event vendors.
• Assist with marketing and promotion of venue rental opportunities and wedding locations.
• Ensure facilities are maintained and prepared to provide exceptional guest experiences.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in venue management, wedding coordination, event planning, hospitality, recreation, tourism, or a related field.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Experience coordinating vendors, caterers, and event logistics.
• Ability to build positive relationships with guests, community members, and business partners.
• Experience with reservations, scheduling, and event management software preferred.
• Knowledge of budgeting, purchasing, and facility operations is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One to three years of relevant experience in event coordination, venue operations, recreation, hospitality, or a related field.
• Valid Missouri driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Venue reservation experience preferred.
• Certified Parks and Recreation Professional designation is a plus.
