Job summary

The Town of Edgewood is seeking a qualified individual to coordinate and expand recreational programs, events, and services under the Town Manager’s supervision. The role requires collaboration with the Parks and Recreational Advisory Board to deliver diverse opportunities for all ages.

Responsibilities include developing and managing programs, coordinating events, and ensuring compliance with local policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Recreation Management or related discipline, or Two (2) years of directly related work experience may be substituted for an Associate degree.
• Two years of experience in Recreation programs and event planning coordination.
• Possession of valid State of New Mexico Driver's license.
• Must be bondable and insurable.

Under general supervision of the Town Manager, employee coordinates and maintains town Recreational programs, events, and services; seeks out and develops programs and projects to create, support, enhance and provide recreational opportunities of all ages for the public. This position works closely with the Parks and Recreational Advisory Board.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of Parks & Recreation planning, and program development, practices, and requirements.
• Knowledge of Town of Edgewood ordinances, policies and procedures, and administrative requirements.
• KnowledgeoftheTownofEdgewoodgeographyincludingroadsandstreets, agricultural, residential, and commercial districts.
• Skill inlocating,identifying,and managing grantapplication processes,and grants.
• ExperienceinthemaintenanceandoperationsofRecreationfacilities andequipment.
• Skillandabilitytoworkwellunderpressureofdeadlines.
• Skillincommunicatingeffectivelyorallyandinthedevelopmentofwrittendocuments, reports, and financial information.
• Skillinoperatingapersonalcomputerandsoftwareapplications,includingAdobe, Publisher,GoogleandExcel,andMSWordproducts.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Indoordutiesareperformedinatemperature-controlledenvironment,performedon an even surface which may be carpeted or tiled. The working surface is typically dry.
• Employee is exposed to natural weather conditions while performing outdoor duties. Outdoordutiesmaybe performed onbothevenandunevensurfaces.Surfacesmaybe inclined or flat and range from dirt, gravel, asphalt, or concrete.
• Work requires regularandpunctualattendance as well as attendance atmeetings and special events outside the normal work schedule.
• Subjecttostanding,walking,sitting,bending,reaching,kneeling,drivingandlifting objects up to 40 pounds.
• Workrequiresabilitytospeak,hear,touch,andsee.
