Knowledge & Education
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation, business or public administration, or a related field.
Knowledge of administrative principles and practices, including goal setting, program development, implementation, and evaluation, and project management.
Skills & Abilities
Plan,develop,organize, oversee, and manage a comprehensiveand dynamiccommunity recreation program.
Think creatively, be flexible, and have a willingness to solve problems in new anddifferent ways.
Develop and implement goals,objectives, practices, policies, procedures,operation plans,and workplans.
Build recreation programs from the ground up and evaluate existing programs for improvements or cancellation; find a good balance between programmed experiences drop-in use opportunities.
Six (6) years of increasingly responsible recreation programming experience including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Possession of, or successful acquisition within 12 months of employment, a valid CPR, AED, and first aid certification issued by the American Red Cross, to be maintained throughout employment.
