Job summary

Sarasota County is seeking a qualified recreation programs administrator to oversee planning, promotion, and delivery of countywide recreation programs and events. You will manage facilities such as Laurel Park, Nokomis Community Park, and Venice Train Depot, ensuring safe operations, staffing coverage, and excellent customer service.

Lead budgeting, policy development, and reporting while advancing CAPRA/ACA accreditation efforts and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, Education, Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field.
• -AND- 2 years minimum supervisory experience.
• 2 years minimum experience overseeing programming from facility programs to large community events.

Responsibilities

• Develop, promote, and direct a broad range of recreation programs and events countywide.
• Oversee daily facility operations at Laurel Park, Nokomis Community Park, and Venice Train Depot.
• Coordinate facility reservations, rentals, and shared use to maximize access.
• Ensure CAPRA and ACA accreditation standards are maintained and compliance with County policies.
