Job summary

The City of Cape Girardeau is seeking a dedicated professional to develop and coordinate recreational programs, leagues and special events, with facility oversight and management of food concession operations.

The role entails recruiting and supervising staff, planning programs, managing facilities, tracking budgets and concessions, and producing reports. A valid driver’s license is required, and extensive interaction with the public is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge sufficient to perform the major duties and essential functions required of the position.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates part-time staff.
• Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates recreation leagues, tournaments, classes and special events.
• Assists in the management and oversight of recreation facilities.
• Manages concession operations at various facilities, and tracks inventory, expenditures and revenues.
• Coordinates and develops staff schedules for recreation events, concessions, leagues, and various programs.
• Works with marketing to develop informational brochures, newsletters, flyers, and other marketing material.
• Assists in researching projects as assigned.
• Tracks employee hours and assists in completion of payroll reports.
• Prepares recreation and concession reports.
• Assists in the development of operating budgets and provides oversight of assigned budgets.
• Provides quality customer service.
• Responds as needed to after hours calls.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
