Job summary

City of Springdale is seeking a recreation program manager to plan, promote, and administer recreation programs and events. The role includes general registration support, evening and weekend supervision, and coordinating staff and contracts.

Responsibilities include marketing, reporting, and collaboration with external groups to run programs, while ensuring safe, well-maintained facilities and positive citizen relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of related experience and/or training; 12–18 months of management experience.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within one year of hire date.
• Proficient with a personal computer and Microsoft Office including Outlook.
• Ability to use internal and external resources for information and data.

Responsibilities

• Provide good customer service to internal and external customers and maintain reliable attendance.
• Assist supervision of sports programs and staff; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Develop program and event management for sports, camps, clinics, and tournaments.
• Plan and implement marketing for programs, including registration materials and publicity.
• Hire, train, and schedule part-time staff and volunteers; coordinate contract workers.
• Assist in administration of parks and recreation office and front desk duties.
• Order and maintain equipment; prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
• Operate online facility and sports scheduling; establish new programs.
• Collaborate with outside groups and coordinate with maintenance for safe facilities.
• Represent the City positively at events and handle citizen concerns.
