Job summary

The City of Cape Girardeau is seeking a Maintenance Worker to coordinate and perform upkeep of city facilities, with priority given to Cape Splash Family Aquatic Center, Cape Aquatic Center and Jefferson Pool. The role includes repairs, system checks, and supervising part-time staff across three facilities.

Responsibilities include emergency response, budgeting assistance, and ensuring safety adherence. A valid driver’s license and relevant maintenance experience are required; evenings, weekends

• Experience and knowledge to perform major duties and essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily service requests for repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Supervise part-time maintenance staff across three aquatic facilities.
• Respond to emergency service needs and after-hours calls.
• Monitor water chemistry and mechanical systems; correct issues as needed.
• Assist in developing maintenance specifications and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with city safety guidelines and bid specifications.
