Job summary

The City of New Albany seeks a part-time recreation program coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate quality recreational activities for the community. You will assist in coordinating camps, leagues, events, and general services while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, with a 2-year recreation-related degree preferred and a valid Indiana driver’s license. CPR/AED/First Aid certification is preferred to support program safety.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalency; 2-year college degree preferred.
• Two years of recreation experience preferred.
• Proficient computer and social media skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of parks and recreation programs, including camps, sports leagues and special events.
• Address public questions about recreation program offerings and related issues.
• Promote collaboration with community organizations.
• Instruct and lead recreation programs and activities as required.
• Maintain a safe recreational environment for participants.
• Coordinate use of program area facilities and schedule reservations; file permits as needed.
• Assist with calls, screens inquiries, and route questions and complaints as required.
