Job summary

The City of Springdale, AR is seeking an experienced Recreation Program Supervisor to plan, implement, promote, and administer recreation programs and special events. The incumbent will assist with general registration of parks facilities and programs, and supervise programs during evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include staff hiring, marketing, report preparation, and coordination with maintenance to ensure safe and well-maintained facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training, plus 12-18 months of management experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification within a year of hire date.
• Proficient in using a personal computer and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing under adverse conditions.
• Good judgment, observation, and memory.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, promote, and administer recreation programs and special events.
• Assist with general registration of parks facilities and recreation programs.
• Supervise recreation programs during evenings and weekends.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive working relationships.
• Assist with supervision of staff and contract workers; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Develop and implement program marketing, registration materials, publicity, and announcements.
• Hire, train, and schedule part-time employees and volunteers; coordinate contract workers.
• Prepare and maintain reports; proficient with online facility and sports scheduling.
• Collaborate with maintenance to ensure safe facilities and establish new programs.
• Represent the City positively during events and respond to citizen concerns.
