Job summary

Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is seeking an Assist Director of Recreation to develop, facilitate, and manage a variety of special events and program functions across the island during peak season. The role oversees the regular program operations and supervises Recreation interns and staff members.

A 40-hour week with evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, and duties include planning and enhancing resort recreation programs, both on-island and across locations during peak season.

Qualifications

• Experience in resort/hospitality industry recommended.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• CPR and First-Aid certification preferred.
• Must pass South Carolina Mandated Reporter course.
• 40-hour week; evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee summer programs for arts, teens, kids, and family activities.
• Plan guest services for holidays and special events.
• Coordinate with Recreation staff on events, planning, and staffing.
• Train new employees and interns.
• Greet visitors at the Activity Center and provide information.
• Manage reservations for recreation activities by phone and in person.
• Operate the Activity Center POS system and complete transactions.
• Assist with animal care duties and Meet the Animals program as needed.
