Job summary

County of Los Angeles seeks an entry-level Recreation Aide to assist in coordinating and promoting park programs across multiple sites. Under close supervision, you will help set up events, observe safety, handle clerical tasks, and provide information to park patrons.

The role requires a California Class C driver's license and physical ability; no previous experience is required. This position offers an introduction to program operations and customer service within the County Parks department.

Qualifications

• No training or experience required.
• A valid California Class C Driver’s License or ability to use alternative transportation.
• Physical Class 3 – Moderate (standing/walking, lifting up to 25 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, conducting, and promoting recreation programs and events.
• Observe free play and activities; ensure park safety rules are followed.
• Set up recreation areas and equipment for events.
• Record attendance and notify participants of schedules and registration dates.
• Provide information to park patrons and answer inquiries.
• Perform routine clerical duties related to park operations and inventory.
