Sacramento County is seeking a Recreation Leader to guide and instruct recreational activities at community sites and parks. This part-time seasonal role involves providing leadership to aides and volunteers, ensuring engaging events and programs.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and have either 30 semester units in recreation or relevant experience in a group leadership role. This position emphasizes safety and community engagement, making it essential for applicants to demonstrate effective relationship-building abilities.
Under supervision, the Recreation Leader acts as a leader and instructs others in recreational activities at parks and recreation centers and community sites. The Recreation Leader is a part‑time seasonal class that provides guidance to recreation aides, volunteers, and participants in conducting recreation activities and assists professional staff in planning, organizing and conducting recreation activities and events.

Background/Criminal History: The County may access criminal history information on candidates who have accepted a conditional offer of appointment for this class consistent with the provisions of Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 82-602, Personnel Policies and Procedure B-5, and applicable Federal and State law. The County shall not consider for employment any candidate who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that relates to or impacts the candidate's ability to perform the job duties of this class unless it is determined that mitigating circumstances exist. For purposes of accessing criminal history information, the candidate will be fingerprinted. A subsequent arrest notification may be obtained.
The probationary period for this classification is six (6) months.
