Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Athletics is seeking a Coordinator of Recreation to support the operation of the university’s recreational programs and fitness facilities at Cohon University Center, Tepper Fitness Center and Highmark Center in Pittsburgh. You will help maintain equipment inventory, supervise student staff, handle scheduling in Workday, and assist in hiring via Handshake.

The role requires strong customer service, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple tasks

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Background checks and child protection clearances may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment inventory and report service calls.
  • Place work orders and communicate facility issues with FMCS and the Director of Recreation.
  • Supervise student desk attendants and weight room cleaners; train and schedule in Workday.
  • Assist in student hiring using Handshake and Workday.
