The Recreation Leader I is an introductory position that will work under direct supervision. This position is part of a three-level career progression of Recreation Leader I, II and III.**Key Responsibilities*** Contributes to the success of recreation programs; prepares, sets up, and cleans up program activities; assists with the leading of programs; monitors program participants as well as supplies and equipment; completes work under supervision by following directions.* Assists team in providing excellent customer service; is available to participants for questions and feedback; answers simple questions, promptly referring more complex questions to other staff.* Assists fellow staff in creating and maintaining a positive, safe and welcoming environment for participants and other staff; participates with group and offers assistance when needed; maintains awareness of changing site conditions.**Qualifications****Experience:** One year of experience working in the recreation industry and/or working with children is preferred. Must be 16 years of age or older.**Education:** A high school diploma or equivalent is required.**Licenses & Certifications:** First Aid and CPR certification required- training provided. Other applicable certifications for specific program focus may be required.
