Job summary

The City of Olathe is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Leader I to assist with a variety of activity enrichment programs for school-age children during breaks and summer camps. The role is introductory and works under direct supervision, with a path through three levels of progression.

Starting hourly pay ranges from $15.81 to $16.58, based on experience. Duties include setup, supervision, and delivering safe, engaging activities while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in recreation or with children preferred.
• Must be 16 years or older.
• First Aid/CPR certification required; training provided.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the success of recreation programs; prepares, sets up, and cleans up program activities; assists with the leading of programs; monitors program participants and supplies/equipment; follows supervisor directions.
• Delivers excellent customer service; assists participants with questions and feedback; directs complex questions to staff.
• Maintains a positive, safe, welcoming environment for participants and staff; supports group activities and site safety.
