Job summary

Laurel Park Behavioral Health Center in Pomona, CA is seeking a temporary full-time Recreation Director to design and oversee activity programs that enhance residents' physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being within state and federal guidelines.

This role requires Active Activity Professional certification in California, at least 2 years of healthcare experience (e.g., Skilled Nursing Facility or IMD), and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Active Activity Professional certification in California.
• At least 2 years of experience working with an adult population in healthcare settings such as Skilled Nursing Facility or IMD.
• Ability to adapt to change; organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Must read, write, and speak English sufficiently for essential functions.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, terminology, laws, regulations relating to long-term care.

Responsibilities

We are now hiring a temporary fulltime Recreation Director to be the newest member of our awesome team!

Starting rate is $21.00/hour, also DOE.

As a Recreation Director you will develop, plan, organize and direct the implementation of activity/recreation programs in accordance with current state and federal guidelines and regulations, and Company policies and procedures. Programs are designed in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, spiritual and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

Must have:

• Active Activity Professional certification in California
• At least 2 years of experience working with an adult population in healthcare setting such as Skilled Nursing Facility or IMD
• Flexible with the ability to adapt to change
• Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Must have valid driver’s license, clear DMV record, and be insurable under Company's insurance policy
• Must be able to read, write and speak the English language sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the job
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care

Nice to have:

• Certification or training in therapeutic recreation
• Previous experience in Skilled Nursing or IMD environment
