Job summary

Logan Parks and Recreation is seeking a part-time Recreation Coordinator in Logan, Utah. The role focuses on coordinating, promoting, and overseeing a variety of youth and adult recreation activities, while ensuring safety and positive sportsmanship.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a standard senior high school or equivalent.
• Red Cross CPR Certification highly desired; certification may be obtained within three months of employment.
• Spanish-speaking preferred; must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, department heads, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, promote, oversee, and schedule recreation activities (pickleball, basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, and flag football) for youth and adults.
• Monitor and schedule officials and volunteers; prepare facilities for programming and ensure a safe environment.
• Participate in creating public relations materials and promote safety and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, coordinates, promotes, oversees, and performs a wide variety of tasks associated with the Logan Parks and Recreation -- Recreation Division. These tasks will include, but not limited to, monitoring, facilitating and scheduling activities like pickleball, basketball, soccer, baseball, softball and flag football for youth and adults. Other responsibilities will include monitoring and scheduling officials and volunteers, and sometimes preparing facilities for programming. Ensuring a safe environment for recreation activities. All Logan Parks & Recreation Coordinators must be positive examples of safety and sportsmanship. Coordinators may be asked to participate in creating public relations materials such as flyers.
