Job summary

The Town of Garner is seeking a Recreation Customer Service Specialist to support operations at the Garner Recreation Center. You will handle front desk duties, memberships, registrations, and facility rentals while ensuring excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, customer service or administrative experience, and CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain it within 12 months. The role runs Tue–Sat with varied hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service or administrative experience.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification; or the ability to obtain the certification within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors, verifies patron memberships, and provides information.
• Processes memberships and day passes; collects fees and issues receipts.
• Monitors gym, rooms, and facility to ensure safety and enforce policies.
• Schedules rentals and explains facility policies and fee schedule.
• Assists with setup and takedown for events; helps train part-time staff.
• Prepares program records and reports; registers patrons in RecDesk.
