Job description

Recreation Attendants provide support to guest services through assisting facility guests with information, providing facility tours, setting up for programs, parties, and rentals, monitoring rentals, and assisting with financial transactions as needed. They may be assigned to Thrive, Frederick P. Herring Recreation Center, Hedrick House, or Athletics Complexes.

Starting Salary: $13.13/hour
2nd year: $13.64
3rd year: $14.14
4th year: $14.65
5th year: $15.15
6th year: $15.66

Responsibilities include:

1. Performing duties related to front desk operations such as greeting guests, program registrations, scheduling reservations, answering phones, and administrative tasks.
2. Attending to daily facility operations and assisting with recreation programs, tours, and special events.
3. Assisting with setup, teardown, and implementation of facilities, programs, events, and rentals, working both indoors and outdoors.
4. Providing excellent customer service by responding to guest questions and needs.
5. Attending mandatory training and meetings.
6. Ensuring guest safety, responding to emergencies, and administering first aid as needed.
7. Coordinating parties, including scheduling reservations, decorating, setting up, and assisting hosts.
8. Completing reports and submitting them to supervisors.
9. Monitoring games, recording statistics, and reporting field conditions and discipline issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years old.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of recreation activities and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow office practices, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Responsibility, punctuality, and ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to count money and respond quickly to problems or emergencies.
• Physical ability to perform job tasks and work outdoors.
• Good communication and computer skills.

Other Requirements:

• Pass a criminal background check, drug test, and job assessment.
• Obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.

Our facility operates seven days a week with varied hours. Team members typically work 4-5 hour shifts with schedules created to ensure fairness and flexibility.
