Job summary

City of Round Rock seeks a Recreation Assistant to deliver friendly customer service and support daily facility operations. You will handle registrations, memberships, and simple reports, while maintaining inventory and supervising safety.

Responsibilities include cash handling, event setup, and responding to public inquiries. Training and certifications may be required, with on-site work at assigned facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• No previous work experience required; customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.
• Shallow Water Lifeguard Certification or obtaining within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in a fast, friendly, and professional manner.
• Participate in daily operations of assigned facility, including organizing, cleaning, inventory.
• Respond to information requests, complaints, and other inquiries from the public.
• Prepare paperwork, rosters, reports, and simple statistics for daily activities.
• Operate cash register, balance cash drawer, process receipts and deposits, maintain cash security.
• Attend in-service trainings and maintain required certifications.
• Process recreation program registrations, memberships, and facility reservations.
• Assist with event setup, purchases, and design of event themes.
• Assist with daily operations including gaming equipment distribution for classes.
• Support event day operations including cash handling and hospitality.
• Perform clerical tasks including data entry, calendars, and communications.
• Monitor patrons and maintain safety; provide emergency response and first aid as needed.
