Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Recreation Center Assistant to support and provide assistance for programs and services at the city’s recreation facilities. You will coordinate logistics for youth services, senior assistance, events, and other community activities.

Position involves leading activities, assisting with after-school programs, and handling registrations; requires First Aid/CPR within 6 months and a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• First Aid/CPR certification within 6 months of employment is required.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and implementing programs and activities at recreation centers for adults, teens, children, and the community.
• Leads recreational activities and teaches sport rules to ensure safe, enjoyable participation.
• Assists with after school programs and helps with logistics and attendance tracking.
• Maintains attendance and participation records and reports incidents; handles program materials.
• Provides information to participants and the public about center programs, offering strong customer service.
• Performs daily administrative tasks: registrations, schedules, phones, and sales monitoring.
• Transports youth to field trips and events for recreational and educational activities.
• Enforces rules and safety procedures for games and activities to keep sessions orderly.
• Assists with outreach, marketing, and distribution of program materials at events.
