- Perform a variety of duties in support of Morale, Welfare and Recreation, the Community Recreation program includes special events, recreation information/resources, command events, visiting ships or fleet support, community events, trips, tours, outings, party and picnic rental equipment, resale tickets, bowling, Library, DIY auto program, paintball, outdoor recreation, and gear rental.
- Responsibilities include demonstrating customer service while attending to front counter operations such as use of point-of-sale systems, collecting fees/cash handling associated with sale of tickets and rental items, accountable for accuracy of daily sales transactions, assisting customers with questions, complaints and suggestions.
- Conduct and maintains inventories of equipment, retail goods, rental supplies and item for proper accountability.
- Promotes upcoming programs and resources to customers, command briefings, information fairs, etc. to help market program offerings.
- Responsibilities further entail the issuance of game equipment, outdoor gear rental, paintball rental, general housekeeping, bowling program and recreation program support.
- Supports large special events, trips, and regular recreational programming.
- Must be able to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system. Incumbent must be capable of driving a 15-passenger van.
- Other duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
- Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.
- This position may require the incumbent to be available to work special events, weekends and holidays.
- A valid state driver’s license.
- This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, reaching, climbing and lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain food handler’s certification, CPR and First Aid within 90 days of hire.
- Work may require climbing in and around equipment, moving towable equipment and organization of seasonal equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently
- One year of practical work experience.
- Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities
- Knowledge of goals, principles and techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning and conducting leisure time activities. Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and entire scope of Community Recreation activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages and interests
- Individual must be responsible with a pleasant, courteous attitude who can communicate effectively with the public
- Will need to collect and accurately record cash transactions, and operate a cash register.
- Schedule can include nights, weekends and holidays

Additional information
Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
