A leading government agency seeks an Aquatics Program Assistant responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring patron safety at various aquatic facilities. Candidates should possess relevant certifications, strong customer service skills, and experience as a Water Safety Instructor. This role emphasizes community engagement and facility maintenance, contributing to a safe and enjoyable environment.
Incumbent assists with the daily operations of the Aquatics program in the absence of management.
Incumbent assists with the daily operations of the Aquatics program in the absence of management. Remains alert and continuously observes swimming areas to ensure patron safety. Ensures all swimmers in the water area accounted for at all times. Enforces established policy and procedures specifically, swimming rules and regulations, informs patrons not obeying pool rules or regulations to leave the pool areas and notifies security if necessary. Conducts the American Red Cross Lear to Swim Program. Conducts swim qualification tests for patrons as appropriate. Ensures customer's needs are being satisfied, aiming to provide excellent customer service by promoting and exhibiting Star customer service principles in the organization. Assists and ensures efficient business operations in accordance with established regulations, procedures and work plan. Assists with facility maintenance to include conducting inspections of the pool and surrounding area to ensure cleanliness meets sanitation standards. Performs necessary housekeeping tasks in order to maintain pool and facility cleanliness. Oversees the completion of the weekly pool cleaning and maintenance logs and tracks progress. Performs filter backwashes, burnout or super chlorination as needed. Tests water quality; specifically chlorine, PH, alkalinity and calcium hardness balances per prescribed standards, Coordinates and oversees the execution of planned recreational programs, water aerobics, and specialty programs. Distributes and balance the workload among 3 or more employees, assuring timely accomplishment of assigned work. Provides on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices. Performs other duties as assigned.
