Job description

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Starlifter Bowling Center at Charleston AFB, SC.

Duties

1. Operates the counter, including assignment of bowling lanes, shoe rental, and cash handling.
2. Sells shoes, bowling balls, and accessories.
3. Operates cash register and prepares cash accountability documentation.
4. Issues bowling lanes and shoes to customers.
5. Maintains customer waiting list and makes reservations for ball drilling, bowling instructions, and lane reservations.
6. Corrects minor machine malfunctions as required.
7. Performs safety and fire prevention inspections of the building and documents them.
8. Assists in other areas such as the snack bar during peak periods.
9. Works under the supervision of the Bowling Center Manager.
10. Position involves moderate lifting, prolonged standing, and walking.
11. This is a position of trust.

Requirements

• Complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Must have a valid real ID driver’s license for employment and entry into JB Charleston AFB. A dependent ID or CAC can be used with a current driver’s license.

Qualifications

Who may apply: Open to everyone. Eligibility is determined based on the questionnaire and proof of eligibility must be provided by 06/23/2025. Preferences include Business Based Action, Military Spouse Preference, Veteran, Spouse/Widow/Parent of Veteran, and Transition Hiring Preference.

Experience can include paid, unpaid, or volunteer work, including service programs like Peace Corps or AmeriCorps. Your resume must clearly describe relevant experience. Education qualifications require transcripts if applicable.

Qualifying Experience

Knowledge of bowling center operations, rules, and procedures is desirable but not required. Ability to handle cash and operate bowling equipment is also desirable. Must be physically able to lift, stand, and walk frequently. Completion of a pre-employment physical and a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required.
