Job summary

Complete Care at Meriden is seeking a Recreation Assistant to lead group activities and support residents’ daily engagement in our long-term care community. The role involves planning, coordinating, and adapting activities based on resident assessments and care plans.

You will collaborate with residents, families, and staff to ensure meaningful experiences, while maintaining safety and a compassionate approach. TRD certification is required for this daytime, full-time position.

Qualifications

• TRD/THERAPEUTIC RECREATION DEGREE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
• Ability to lead group programs.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to make independent decisions when appropriate.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, staff and others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in activities like games, crafts, exercise sessions, and other group programs.
• Provide one-on-one activities or modifications based on resident assessments and care plans.
• Assist with activity planning and scheduling.
• Communicate with residents, families, and staff about activities and programs.
