Job summary

Kodiak MWR in Kodiak, AK is seeking a Recreation Aid to support Teen Center activities and general recreation programs. You will oversee activities, assist patrons, and help operate facilities and equipment.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 45 lbs, strong communication, and experience in similar duties. This position is intermittent, 0–19 hours per week, with DOE salary expectations and benefits through USCG Community Services Command.

Qualifications

• Must be able to learn USCG MWR policies, rules and regulations and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and more than 45 lbs with assistance.
• Experience performing duties similar to the ones listed.

Responsibilities

• Involves in activities such as military recreation center activities, youth activities, outdoor recreation, arts and crafts, athletics and fitness programs, music/theater, or other USCG MWR recreational services.
• Provide oversight of activities and services to patrons and give information on equipment use and facilities.
• Issue tools, equipment and games, check IDs, and collect fees when needed.
• Check inventory, lead games and events, decorate rooms, and maintain clean work areas.
• Maintain safety procedures and security of premises and perform clerical or general maintenance duties as needed.
