Job summary

USCG Base Cape Cod MWR in Kodiak, AK is seeking a Recreation Aid INT – 6891. This intermittent position pays $17.00/hour + DOE with a work schedule of 0–19 hours per week, supporting the MWR Teen Center and a range of recreational activities.

The role involves supervising activities, assisting patrons, handling equipment, maintaining safety, and keeping facilities clean and orderly in accordance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Skill to learn USCG MWR policies, rules and regulations involving the area, and ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics
• The incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
• Experience in the performance of duties similar to the above.

Responsibilities

• Oversee activities and services for authorized patrons and provide information on facilities and operation.
• Issue tools, equipment and games; check identification and collect fees when appropriate.
• Assist in directing patrons, scheduling the use of courts, lanes and equipment; monitor inventory.
• Decorate party rooms, maintain cleanliness of work areas, and demonstrate basic arts and crafts techniques.
• Ensure adherence to regulations and safety procedures; monitor and secure premises; perform clerical tasks as needed.
