Job summary

Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Recreation Aide to enrich residents' lives through engaging activities and meaningful social interactions. If you enjoy working with older adults and have a passion for creating fun, memorable experiences, we'd love to have you on our team!

The role focuses on planning and leading individual and group recreational activities, coordinating events, and promoting a welcoming, inclusive environment. Prior experience with older adults is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with older adults or in healthcare/recreation settings preferred.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and compassionate.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead individual and group recreational activities.
• Facilitate cognitive, physical, social, and leisure programs that promote resident engagement.
• Assist with coordinating monthly events, holiday celebrations, and special activities.
• Encourage resident participation while adapting activities to individual interests, abilities, and needs.
• Build positive relationships with residents and promote a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Assist with transporting residents to and from activities as needed.
• Maintain activity supplies and ensure activity areas remain clean and organized.
• Observe residents during activities and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Ensure resident safety, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to enhance residents' quality of life.
