Job summary

Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a creative, energetic Recreation Aide to enrich the lives of residents through engaging activities and meaningful social interactions. The role involves planning and leading activities for older adults, coordinating events, and promoting a welcoming environment.

The position requires enthusiasm, strong communication, and the ability to adapt activities to diverse abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with older adults or in healthcare/activities setting preferred.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and compassionate.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead individual and group recreational activities.
• Facilitate cognitive, physical, social, and leisure programs that promote resident engagement.
• Assist with coordinating monthly events, holiday celebrations, and special activities.
• Encourage resident participation while adapting activities to individual interests, abilities, and needs.
• Build positive relationships with residents and promote a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Assist with transporting residents to and from activities as needed.
• Maintain activity supplies and ensure activity areas remain clean and organized.
• Observe residents during activities and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Ensure resident safety, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to enhance residents' quality of life.
